"Give Greece A Chance" was a pan-European campaign run on traditional as well as on digital media, which invited Europeans to see through the stereotypes and ensure that the sacrifices made by every Greek under the toughest austerity package in modern history do not go in vain. The campaign run during the weekend 24th -26th February via a full-page print campaign in 17 key European newspapers, focusing on Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium, while it also included the European editions of The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times and The International Herald Tribune. Additionally, a dedicated site www.greeceischanging.com, an online banner campaign in highly popular European sites and a Facebook Fan page were also created to support the initiative digitally. The project was led pro bono by V+O Communication with the active involvement of Felix BNI, Bakers Digital and IPG and was funded by a group of 21 leading Greek businesses, under the auspices of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE).During a critical period, in terms of negotiations and upcoming decisions on a European level, the campaign generated extensive coverage across Europe and attracted a lot of attention from the media. The impact of the campaign is highly acknowledged on the digital environment: since the start of the campaign, 131.682 unique visitors, 462 millions impressions and 15.714 facebook friends have been generated.
V+O's Vice-President & Managing Director Yiannis Olympios was interviewed by Stavros Theodorakis on "The Protagonists", the leading weekly infotainment aired on MEGA TV, which explores unseen angles of prominent personalities and everyday people. As he stated " the objective was to redirect the agenda on goals that have already been achieved and expand the dialogue by engaging new age groups through social media".
