The strategic partnership of V+O and the global sustainability growth consultancy, Corporate Citizenship was presented during the event and Mr. Andrew Wilson, Director of Corporate Citizenship, analyzed a number of case studies from international companies and organizations.
Mr. Olympios stated: "the human footprint on the environment, the digital boom and the evolution of social media, have radically changed how businesses operate. Partial and fragmented charitable activities as well as social responsibility programs that constantly change focus, belong to the past. Companies eager to ensure a long-term sustainable future, should incorporate sustainable development principles in their operations and embrace its philosophy. They need to understand the role they should play in addressing the critical issues of sustainable development. It is really important for businesses to formulate a long-term vision coupled by clear and measurable objectives, applied in every corporate procedure, and to involve all stakeholders. The support of the top management team to all of the above, is vital for the success. "
